Having made the film PIG BUSINESS, we are now focusing on PIG BUSINESS THE CAMPAIGN, spreading the message and distributing the film round the world.
Our campaign seeks a u-turn away from modern-day factory farming – which incarcerates pigs in cages or crates where they never see the light of day – to high welfare systems that are good not just for pigs but for rural livelihoods, human health and the environment. With the film, we will seek to champion the cause of welfare-friendly pig farmers across the world, by encouraging campaigners to use the film to promote their work highlighting the true cost of factory farmed pork and encourage consumers to buy only high welfare pig meat products.
PIG BUSINESS THE FILM has helped expose the horrors of intensive pig production but it’s also shone a beam of light on a path for us to follow. British pig farmers are leading the way in welfare-friendly pig farming, but we have lost half of our pig farmers in the last ten years as they cannot compete with low welfare, factory farmed foreign pig meat imports that are flooding into the country. We will strive to change this through hard hitting campaigning that will take pigs to the top of the political agenda!
So, if you love pigs, keep pigs, farm pigs or simply eat pigs then PIG BUSINESS is the campaign for you. We need your support, so we can ensure Government, industry and supermarkets are aware of our concerns and more importantly act on them.
