What the money is needed for?

Pig Business relies on the generous support of individuals and organisations to achieve our aims. We work on a local, national and global level, so you can be sure that your donation has a positive impact in UK, and makes a difference across the globe.

We guarantee that all donations go towards our campaigning activities to improve conditions for farm animals, support small-scale, sustainable farmers and give you the consumer all the information you need to avoid factory farmed pig meat.

Goals

  1. To continue supporting campaigns and objections to new factory farm
    proposals in the UK.
  2. To provide country-specific versions of the film for campaigners to use as a tool to fight  factory farms.

Campaign against Foston factory pig farm, UK

'Wire' Actor Dominic West supports campaign

Over 13,000 people have objected to the proposed 25,000 pig factory farm development in Foston, Derbyshire. With your help we can continue to support local opposition by organising public debates and hosting a lunch for Councillors at the Bamford’s JCB office in Staffordshire where we will screen our tailor-made Foston films: The Dark Side of Factory Farming and Dominic West Opposes Factory Pig Farm. We will also continue our research into the impact of this type of factory farm on the health of the neighbouring community and encourage others to lodge objections with the local authority to stop this proposal.

If permission is granted, the gates are open for more pig factory farms in the UK – perhaps next time near you!

Behind the scenes

Campaigners from across the world are asking for translations and/or country specific film versions to use as a tool to inform local people, fellow campaigners, activists and government bodies in their fight to keep food coming from farms – not factories. We have recently completed US, Canadian and Romanian country-specific film versions and hope to complete the Hungarian and start on Ukrainian, Mexican, Brazilian, Italian and Spanish films this autumn.

The films so far have been produced by Pig Business. However, to speed up the process and meet the increasing demand we would like to outsource the work to Eco Storm, undercover documentary film makers, and to film makers in the countries themselves.
